Headaches and/or Head Injuries in an Automobile Accident

The most common diagnosis for a patient who suffered an auto accident is whiplash. However, drivers or passengers involved in car accident increasingly experience headaches days after the incident.  To rule out concussion issues, these individuals who experienced a hard blow in the head are encouraged to check with their trusted local physical therapist for a comprehensive evaluation. Headache is sometimes felt days after the car accident occurs. Head injury symptoms includes:

  • Difficulty concentrating or loss of concentration
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Loss of memory and/orRinging in the ears
  • Ringing in the ears​

The most vital part of recovery from a concussion is rest and regulating activities that require mental concentration. It is important to let your brain rest, regain, and recover from the injury and only go back to normal activities when your physical therapist or doctor approves.
