Certified Blood Flow Restriction Therapists in Maryland
BEAT Physical Therapy uses an advanced technology called BFR/Blood Flow Restriction Therapy technique in addition to traditional physical rehabilitation.
We are proud to be one of the first in Maryland to use it. Using this technique, you can exercise with significantly lighter weights while still creating an environment for your muscles to achieve the hypertrophy and strength response similar to lifting a higher load.
Common injuries treated by BFR Therapy Technique:
- ACL Injuries
- Meniscus Tears
- Achilles Tendon Injuries
- Ankle Sprain
- Shoulder Impingement Syndrome
- Rotator Cuff Injuries
- Labral Tears
- Pre and Post-Surgical Conditions
- Other Musculoskeletal Injuries
- And more…
Effects of BFR Therapy:
After you have completed your exercise session and you have built up sufficient lactate, many positive effects can occur. These include an increase in growth hormone and other anabolic (positive) muscle growth factors. There will also be an increase in protein synthesis, which is your muscle’s ability to grow. You should discuss proper nutrition guidelines with your BEAT PT specialist to maximize these effects.
