Knee Pain & Injury Treatment
ACL and meniscus injuries, runner's knee, arthritis and knee replacement rehab — a conservative, hands-on approach before and after surgery.
The knee takes a lot of load every day, which makes it one of the most commonly injured joints — from sports injuries and overuse to arthritis and surgery.
BEAT believes in a conservative approach: we use skilled, non-invasive physical therapy before surgery is considered, prepare you for surgery when you need it (“prehab”), and guide your recovery afterward.
Common symptoms
- Pain going up or down stairs, squatting or kneeling
- Swelling or stiffness
- Clicking, catching or a feeling of the knee "giving way"
- Pain during or after running and sports
How we treat it
- Manual therapy to restore motion
- Progressive strengthening of the hip, thigh and calf
- Balance and movement retraining
- Return-to-run and return-to-sport progressions
- Taping, dry needling and blood flow restriction training when appropriate
Frequently asked questions
Can physical therapy help me avoid knee surgery?
For many knee problems — including some meniscus tears and arthritis — a well-designed exercise program is an effective first step. We believe in a conservative approach and will help you and your physician decide if surgery is the right call.
When should I start PT after a knee replacement?
Usually within days of surgery, following your surgeon's protocol. Early, consistent therapy is key to getting your motion back.
